Golden’s Bridge Hounds was founded in 1924 by famed hotelman, John McEntee Bowman, who registered a tract of land between Golden’s Bridge and Brewster in his own name (”Mr. Bowman’s Hounds) with the Master of Foxhounds Association of America. A few years later the name was changed to “Golden’s Bridge Hounds” and was incorporated in 1936.
Our Spring Pace, always welcoming and relaxed, features beautiful North Salem Hunt Country and is the perfect way for you and your horse to start the season. Whether you do it all or just amble along, everyone has fun and your entry fee includes lunch under the tent. Western riders are welcome and will be placed in the pleasure division. Save the date. Our North Country hunt area offers distant views, cleared trails and pristine farmland. Only 45 minutes from North Salem, the beauty of this area captures everyone’s attention. The jumps are very inviting, all have go-arounds and a wonderful buffet lunch is included. Saddle pads from Manhattan Saddlery will be awarded for first place hunter division and Jamie Manning will be giving Smith-Worthington awards for the first to finish in the divisions!
